Job summary

Focus Machinery Pte Ltd, Singapore is seeking an intern to design and implement a remote monitoring setup for equipment to enhance predictive maintenance. You will collaborate with the client and manufacturer to ensure compliance with regulatory and ISO standards, wiring practices, and remote data collection.

The role involves programming PLCs, understanding technical and business requirements, and producing ISO-compliant documentation. It is a hybrid role at The Workshop @ AMK in Singapore.

About the Role

In this project, you will participate in the proposed roll-out of a new initiative together with one of our long-term clients, that has been using this equipment supplied by us for the last 15 years or so.

In this project, you will be required to design, propose, program, modify and implement a remote monitoring device/setup that is used for the remoting of the physical, digital, and electrical signal and parameters of the equipment.

The goal and objective of this initiative is to improve the end-user preventive maintenance(“PM”) regime, enable the field technician and engineers to adopt an active stance in knowing the status of the oil cleaner, rather than a reactive one.

You will be part of a team to communicate, liaise and seek the recommended approval from both the manufacturer and the client – ensuring that the proposed technical implementation, the design of the electrical circuit and diagram adhere to both the client and the manufacturer technical framework.

The ideal candidate would preferably possess the following qualification and knowledge:

• Propose fundamental changes to the original equipment in order to ensure that the final proposed design comply with industrial regulatory standard and requirement.
• Design, and propose mechanical 3D AutoCAD drawing to ensure that the mechanical drawing comply with regulatory reporting.
• Propose, design, and implement the recommended electrical design to overcome the technical limitation.

The candidate would be required to:

• To programme a Programmable Logic Controllers(“PLC”) that will enable the remote monitoring of a machinery from a remote location.
• Candidate would be required to understand the technical specification and business requirement from the client
• Document the technical and business requirement according to the necessary engineering specification and ISO standards
• Candidate would be expose and be familiar with Ingress Protection(“IP”) to concept such an environmental and harshness standard to ensure that the equipment is protected against environmental exposure – such as sunlight, water, heat and humidity.
• Candidate would be required to propose a reasonable timeline, and project/work schedule together with the deliverable that is reasonable for a project of this scale.
• Conduct a proof–of–concept(“PoC”) implementation and demonstration to the internal team for verification and validation
