Job description

OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical (MEP) Engineer to support our piping and fabrication works on a EPC project. This is a short-term contract for 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Drawing & As‑Built Documentation

  • Generate 2D/isometric fabrication drawings including carbon/stainless‑steel piping and supports.
  • Incorporate client feedback and issue red‑line markups for as‑built records.

Technical Package Review & RFIs

  • Review incoming Construction Work Packages (CWPs), Material Take-Offs (MTOs), line/equipment lists; flag gaps.
  • Raise and close Request for Information (RFIs) with client design teams to eliminate site delays.

Fabrication Coordination

  • Prepare weld maps and track spool progress, to liaise with shop teams on priorities.
  • Validate delivered spools/supports against approved MTOs and documentation.

Procurement Support & Material Control

  • Issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), extract material quantities, initiate Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and verify site receipts.

Inspection & Quality

  • Assist in lifting plan prep and participate in progressive QC inspections;
  • Support Non-Conformance Report (NCR) closure.

Progress Reporting & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Contribute to weekly/monthly progress reports and attend coordination meetings.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven track record in piping/shop drawing design (ISO, P&ID, CWPs, MTOs).

Technical Tools

  • AutoCAD (2D & Isometrics), Navisworks (or equivalent).
  • Advanced Excel for MTOs, weld maps & tracking logs.
  • MS Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.

Skills & Attributes

  • Meticulous attention to drawing standards, QA/QC and document control.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical mindset and RFI management.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication; able to thrive both independently and in teams.
