Croda (S) Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support safe and reliable operation of manufacturing assets. You will develop short-term engineering plans, troubleshoot plants, participate in hazard studies and risk assessments, and assist incident investigations.
collaborating with the wider engineering team under the line manager's guidance, and communicating technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the safe and reliable operation of manufacturing assets by developing and monitoring short-term engineering plans, providing plant and process troubleshooting support, participating in hazard studies and risk assessments, and assisting in incident investigations. The role involves resolving engineering issues, communicating technical information with internal and external stakeholders, identifying improvement opportunities, and working closely with the wider engineering team under the guidance of the line manager.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Relevant experience in plant maintenance, reliability, mechanical equipment, or project engineering within a manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or similar process environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment such as pumps, piping systems, agitators, valves, rotating equipment, and utility systems.
Good troubleshooting, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to safety and detail.
A collaborative team player who communicates effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Regularly communicate technical information and influence internally at all site levels and with external engineering contractors, suppliers and regulators of core discipline engineering matters
Provide plant and process troubleshooting skills to manufacturing assets ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum
Lead and participate in hazard studies and participate in process hazard reviews including carrying out risk assessments with assigned plant areas
Identify areas for improvement and generate original thinking in design and development
Work under the direction of your line manager with regular referral
Work as part of a larger departmental team
Engineering acumen to identify areas for improvement
Ability to approach tasks with creativity, flair and continual improvement
