A leading company in the chemical industry is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to oversee mechanical activities that ensure safety, performance, and compliance. Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Purpose of the Job: The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for administering and executing mechanical activities to maintain and periodically improve equipment and assets in Ineos Phenol Singapore. This role focuses on reliability, availability, inspection, performance, manpower, safety, and environmental preservation.
Key Accountabilities:
Administer and execute mechanical functions to ensure the production plant operates safely and cost-effectively within equipment design limits, following the Plan, Do, Check, Action cycle.
Implement maintenance regimes, preventive and predictive plans, and strategies to ensure the integrity of critical assets and protective systems, adhering to regulatory, process safety, and industry standards.
Manage equipment response activities, including failure analysis, countermeasure formulation, asset renewal/improvement, and spare parts inventory management in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
Support the planning, execution, and evaluation of plant Turnaround (TAR) activities to meet safety, cost, and schedule requirements.
Assist in procurement for reliable and cost-effective supply, and manage materials and manpower resources for the mechanical function of the manufacturing plant.
Evaluate and track evolving technologies and materials for their applicability to the manufacturing site.
Ensure compliance with INEOS requirements, comprising of safety, technical and major hazard scenarios management.
Level of education & Experience in general
Diploma/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering
Minimum of 2 to 7 years in maintenance/project roles in O&G/Chemical Industrsy
Certified training in areas of reliability/risk-based engineering, piping/pressure vessel inspection in O&G/Chemical Industry
Experience in managing relationship with SHE personnel and government bodies.
