Job summary

KLA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and update mechanical and opto-mechanical subsystems for released products. You will perform analysis and collaborate across manufacturing, electrical, optics, and field teams to ensure robust solutions.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 2–5 years of relevant experience, with CAD proficiency in Creo or SolidWorks. Occasional travel 10–20% to customer sites and suppliers is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2–5 years of experience in mechanical design of complex systems.
Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo/SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement mechanical and opto-mechanical subsystem updates for released products.
Perform tolerance analysis, GD&T, and design documentation.
Execute analysis (structural, thermal, vibration) to support design decisions.
Lead or support Engineering Change Requests / Engineering Change Orders.
Collaborate with systems, electrical, optics, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
Drive DFx improvements (manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, cost).
Identify cost reductions and reliability improvements.
