Job description

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer (LED/ Automation / SOLIDWORK / Optical Design)

Location: Commonwealth (6 minutes’ walk to Commonwealth MRT Station)

Working hours: 5 days work week; Monday-Friday 8.30 am - 6.00 pm

Salary (commensurate with experience): Basic salary Up to 7000 + Performance Bonus

Duration: Permanent

Industry: Electronics Mechanical / R&D and Manufacturing

Main Responsibilities:

• Involved in full cycle mechanical design from conceptualization, designing, research and development.
• Evaluate final product’s overall performance, testing, reliability, safety and commissioning.
• Define design approach for new products and platforms and generate design specifications.
• Execute new product designs personally, and oversee outsourced resources where appropriate.
• Execute quick turn prototyping, 3D samples, debugging, verification testing, and performance characterization of new designs.
• Support current platforms with enhancements and improvements where needed.
• Support manufacturing engineering as necessary and provide appropriate tools and techniques to the service organization.
• Execute/manage compliance testing and documentation.
• Adhere to best practices for documentation and version control.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in design and development of Analog and Digital circuitry and/or embedded systems.
• Knowledge & Skills in SolidWorks, 2D and 3D software or more.
• Proficient with laboratory instrumentation, tooling fabrication, die-casting, extrusion, plastic injection moulding and metal stamping processes.
• Utilize various tools of specialization (CREO/ DFM/ DFMEA/ Tolerance Analysis/ Simulation etc.) to design, validate and improve existing designs.
• Experience in LED, Automation, Thermal and optical design.
