Mechanical Design Engineer (Electronics/Industrial Sensors)

The Opportunity:

Adecco is partnering with a leading international provider of sensor and automation solutions for industrial applications, and we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing R&D team! The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and improving innovative sensor products, supporting product lifecycle activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across regions to bring high-performance solutions to market.

The company specializes in industrial automation, smart sensor technologies, and intelligent manufacturing systems.

The Job:

• Research, design, and develop new or enhanced industrial sensors based on customer requirements.
  
• Provide design support for product improvements, cost reductions, function enhancements, and manufacturing optimization.
  
• Create and manage design proposals, specifications, 2D/3D CAD drawings, and technical documentation.
  
• Perform DFM, FMEA, tolerance analysis, and other evaluations to ensure manufacturability and product performance.
  
• Develop test plans and conduct mechanical verification; support product validation to meet quality standards.
  
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to manage the entire product lifecycle-including customer feedback, tooling updates, and failure analysis.
  
• Liaise with headquarters for technical support and technology transfer.
  
• Ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS/REACH) with support from the approvals team.
  

The Talent:

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical product design.
  
• Strong understanding of plastic moulding, metal injection moulding, sheet metal fabrication, and other manufacturing technologies.
  
• Solid background in mechanics, design theory, material science, and bonding techniques for mixed-material assemblies.
  
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  
• Knowledge of optics will be a plus.
  
• Open-minded, creative, team-oriented, and self-driven individual with a willingness to grow and acquire new skills.
