Mechanical Design Engineer

Industry/ Organization Type: Heavy Equipment

Working Location: Tuas

Working Hours: 5.5 days (Mon - Fri, 8.00am - 7.00pm; Sat, 8.00am - 12.00pm)

Salary Package: Basic salary up to $4,800 + Allowance + Variable Bonus

Duration: Permanent Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and improve mechanical systems for battery handling, charging, and swapping
• Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for mechanical parts
• Choose, order, and buy needed mechanical parts and machines
• Set up and follow maintenance schedules to keep equipment running well
• Make sure all designs follow safety and industry rules
• Apply safety rules for staff and equipment
• Inspect and test mechanical systems to make sure they work properly
• Find and fix mechanical problems
• Work with other teams and project managers to plan and complete projects
• Give advice on mechanical engineering for project planning
• Handle electrical and hydraulic problems
• Repair rotary drilling rigs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Experience in maintenance work
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering basics
• Skilled in using CAD software
• Understanding of rotary drilling rig functionality is advantageous
