Job summary

Hydroleap, a Singapore-based deep tech startup, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to advance our proprietary water-treatment designs. You will translate concepts into robust mechanical systems, select materials for corrosive environments, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include designing pumps, piping, valves, and treatment equipment, applying ISO/ASME standards, and contributing to energy-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years' experience in mechanical design, preferably in wastewater or process industries.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and corrosion-resistant materials.
• Experience with PFDs and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and equipment for wastewater treatment, from concept to implementation.
• Collaborate with Process and Electrical & Automation engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure safety and reliability by applying ISO/ASME and local standards.
• Contribute to R&D and optimization projects for energy efficiency.

Who we are looking for

Hydroleapis seeking aMechanicalDesignEngineer to join our team. The ideal candidate willbe responsible forimprovingHydroleap’sproprietarydesigns,developingandoptimizingwater treatmentprocesses to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer ,you’llbe at the heart of transforming ideas into reality.You’lldesign mechanical systems and equipment that keep wastewater treatment plants running efficiently and sustainably. From concept sketches to final implementation, your work will directly contribute to cleaner water and a healthier planet.

What you will be doing

• Innovate & Design:Work with Product Specialist to improveHydroleap’sproprietary electro-coagulation, electro-oxidationdesigns.Developmechanical designs forpumpskids,piping, valves, and treatment equipment.
• Collaborate: Work closely withHydroleap’sProcessand Electrical& Automationengineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure Excellence:ApplyISO, ASME, and local standards to guarantee safety, reliability, and compliance.
• Drive Sustainability:Optimizesystems for energy efficiency andreducedenvironmental impact.
• Grow: Contribute to R&D projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years’ mechanical design experience, ideally within the wastewater or process industries
• Solid understanding of fluid mechanics andexpertisein selecting materials suitable for corrosive environments
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology
• Proven ability to develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Proficiencywith 2D (AutoCAD) & 3D modeling software (SolidWorks)a must
• Knowledge of CFD/FEA programs a plus
• Track recordof successful collaboration with cross-functional engineering and project teams
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for sustainability, innovation, and contributing to solutions that make a positive global impact
