Position Overview:We are looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analysing and overseeing the structural integrity of mechanical systems and components for our products. These include specialty vehicles, engines and shelters. This role demands a strong understanding of mechanical design, vehicle systems, and relevant automotive and/or military standards, with a focus on ensuring high performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness.Key Responsibilities:· Develop and optimize mechanical designs for mechanical and automotive systems, focusing on efficiency, manufacturability, and sustainability.· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and software engineers, to create innovative solutions that meet customer needs.· Utilize advanced CAD tools (such as SolidWorks) to create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.· Perform simulations and analysis to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and safety criteria.· Create prototypes and conduct hands-on testing to gather data, evaluate performance, and refine designs.· Participate in design reviews and contribute to brainstorming sessions to drive continuous improvement and innovation.· Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, test results, and compliance with industry regulations.· Stay updated on industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into your work.· Support manufacturing team with technical guidance to ensure smooth production processes and troubleshoot any design-related issues.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree or higher qualification is a plus.
At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally within the automotive sector.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g. FEA, CFD).
Strong knowledge of mechanical design standards, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative solutions.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
Results-driven and detail-oriented mindset with a passion for engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills:Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience with automotive and/or military vehicle standards and protocols
