Job summary

Leica Microsystems in Singapore is offering an on-site Mechanical Engineering Intern role to support CAD data migration. You will help move legacy 2D/3D files from IDEAS to CREO within Windchill, ensuring data integrity and compatibility with current standards.

You’ll work under the Senior Development Engineer in the R&D Applied team, learning product lifecycle processes and collaborating with engineers to resolve migration issues. This is an on-site position in Singapore.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of CAD software; CREO preferred; IDEAS experience is a plus; SolidWorks acceptable.
Familiarity with 3D modeling principles and file management.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings (dwg).
Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

Migrate legacy CAD files (2D and 3D) from IDEAS to CREO within Windchill PLM.
Validate migrated files for accuracy and compatibility with current design standards.
Re-create 3D models where required to ensure design integrity.
Document migration progress and report issues promptly.
Collaborate with R&D engineers to resolve discrepancies during migration.
