MD, Asia Structured Debt Vertical - Front Office Business Management

Job Responsibilities

• Overall management and supervision of various groups, functions and staffs at SFDA and ASDV
• Business management and strategic planning for business development of structured finance and other structured debt products (such as LBO, transportation finance, securitization, real estate finance, structured credit, etc.) areas in APAC.
• Develop and maintain relationship with Japanese clients in South East Asia and Oceania.
• Overall management of several Japanese companies’ related project finance transactions.
• Liaise and co-work with relevant departments and SMBC group members to consider and implement business strategy
• Support ad-hoc works for senior management of SMBC Singapore and MDs at SFDA and ASDV
• Develop team members’ skill and motivate others to maximize the outcome of the team

Job Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience in structured finance transactions in various regions/countries at Financing Sector.
• Management experience for at least 30 persons as manager in the Banking Sector.
• Experience in developing new businesses and products
• Fluent in spoken and written Japanese is desirable as this role requires discussions with Japanese clients and presentations in Japanese.
• Deep sector knowledge of infrastructure, power (both conventional and renewable), and energy.
• Professional level of MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and the analysis and creation of financial models.
• University graduate with a strong academic background
• A team player but also independent and self-motivated
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize, manage, and meet expectations/deadlines with strong work ethics, integrity, and commitment
• Knowledge of Japanese Banking Law and banking regulations
