Job summary

Applied Materials in Singapore is seeking an experienced Materials Planner to develop and manage integrated planning processes covering make-vs-buy, capacity, scheduling, and inventory. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize costs and drive on-time delivery across production lines.

The role involves forecasting demand, converting it into build-to-order/forecast plans, and leading supplier relationships to ensure quality and delivery targets.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage cross-functional planning process that includes make versus buy, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory and material cost elements
• Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts and historical material usage to develop build-to-order and build-to-forecast plans
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop best-cost production planning strategies to meet demand
• Establish methods and best practices for inventory forecasting, purchasing and material control
• Manage production scheduling by tracking material inventories and progress, addressing schedule drivers
• Ensure accuracy of inventory counts and implement corrective actions with Finance to prevent discrepancies
• Develop and execute sourcing strategy to meet growth and sourcing requirements
• Manage supplier relationships to meet cost, quality and delivery targets
• Establish, monitor and report supplier scorecard performance
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to achieve cost reductions and ensure on-time delivery
• Select and manage employees to ensure efficient operations of the function
