Job summary

STMicroelectronics Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is seeking a Material Planner to manage Fab material availability, maintain material requirements and inventory models, and prevent line-down situations across the supply chain.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in supply chain or related field, 2–5 years in semiconductors, SAP ERP experience, and strong Excel/automation skills (Python/SQL/VBA) to drive optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry, especially material planning or production control.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP) and MS Office (Excel, Power Query, Power BI).
• Experience with coding (Python, SQL, VBA) for automation and data analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data integrity of the material planning database (BOM, lead times, safety stock).
• Perform material analysis and demand forecasting against the production schedule.
• Drive improvements in material usage, waste reduction, and excess inventory management.
• Lead programs related to supplier lead time efficiency, inventory optimization, and warehouse space utilization.

YOUR ROLE

The Material Planner has responsibility for overall Fab Material Availability, maintaining the material requirement and inventory models, upholding the supply chain to prevent line-down situations, driving the team to meet inventory turn targets, and working on material optimization.

Primary Job Function

• Ensure data integrity of the material planning database (BOM, lead times, safety stock levels).
• Perform material analysis and demand forecasting against the production schedule.
• Drive operations for improvement in material usage, waste reduction, and excess inventory management.
• Lead programs related to supplier lead time efficiency, inventory optimization, and warehouse space utilization.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

• Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Operations Management, or equivalent.
• 2- 5 years of relevant working experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in roles relating to material planning, and production control, process engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel. Power Query, Power BI etc)
• Additional coding skills (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA) is a strong plus for automation and data analysis.
• Requires excellent coordination and organizing skills to manage multiple material suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• High level of multi‑tasking and capability to prioritise – need to calibrate 'off - rep
• Proficient in Business Communication and Written skills for vendor management and cross‑functional alignment
