This role is designed for fresh polytechnic graduates who are keen to gain hands‑on exposure to container terminal operations, vessel activities, safety management, manpower coordination, and frontline leadership. You will undergo a structured one-year on-the-job training programme supported by an experienced mentor who will guide you as you develop practical operational skills.
You will work in a dynamic environment where each shift brings different challenges, from coordinating vessel movements and allocating resources to supporting teams on the ground and responding to operational issues.
Upon successful completion of the training programme, you will have the opportunity to progress into an Operations Executive position and continue building a long-term career within the maritime and logistics industry.
Coordinate day-to-day container terminal activities to support smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
Support vessel loading and discharge activities while ensuring operational and service standards are achieved.
Arrange manpower, equipment, and operational resources according to daily shift requirements.
Record and monitor container and terminal movements accurately through the Terminal Operations System.
Work closely with internal departments, vessel crews, and other operational stakeholders to address issues and minimise delays.
Guide and coordinate equipment operators and frontline personnel to achieve productivity and service objectives.
Monitor ground activities and take appropriate action when operational disruptions, delays, or safety issues arise.
Promote compliance with workplace safety procedures, operational guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare shift handover updates, operational records, and performance reports using digital reporting systems.
Complete the structured on-the-job training programme and develop practical capabilities in terminal operations, safety, coordination, and team leadership.
Diploma in any discipline from a local polytechnic.
Fresh graduates are welcome; no prior working experience is required as structured training and mentorship will be provided. Exposure to logistics, operations, maritime activities, or team-based environments will be advantageous.
Comfortable working rotating shifts on a 5.5-day work week and able to adapt to a fast-paced operational environment.
Familiar with basic digital tools and comfortable learning operational systems and reporting platforms.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving ability, teamwork, and potential to take on future leadership responsibilities.
Salary range: S$2,800 to S$3,500
Monthly shift allowance: S$300 to S$400
Annual Wage Supplement (AWS) and variable bonus of approximately 2 to 5 months, subject to performance
