This role will focus on underwriting Marine Cargo risks across Asia Pacific, ensuring profitable growth, disciplined risk selection, and alignment with the strategic objectives of the portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business within delegated authority levels, maintaining strong broker and client relationships, and playing an active role in portfolio development. As a key member of the regional team, you will evaluate submissions, assess risk characteristics, set appropriate pricing strategies, and draft tailored terms and conditions. Knowledge of compliance, regulatory requirements, and reinsurance structures will be viewed favourably. Professional qualifications such as ACII or equivalent are advantageous.

Reporting to the regional head of marine underwriting, the successful candidate will also contribute to data analysis, market research, management reporting, and business development initiatives. Attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and independently managing priorities in a fast-paced environment are critical for success in this position. Comfort with internal systems and platforms used in underwriting, pricing, and policy administration is also vital.

This position offers a competitive remuneration package with a salary paid in Hong Kong dollars, based on qualifications and experience. The preferred base location is Hong Kong, although applicants based in Singapore with the right credentials will also be considered.
