About the Role

The Marine Surveyor will be responsible for conducting technical inspections, surveys, and assessments of marine vessels and equipment. The role involves working closely with shipowners, operators, shipyards, and classification societies to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspection and condition surveys of vessels, machinery, and marine systems (e.g., engines, generators, propulsion, control systems).
  • Perform failure analysis, root cause investigations, and prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Verify compliance with class, flag state, and statutory regulations (ABS, DNV, BV, LR, etc.).
  • Support newbuild and retrofit projects, including equipment commissioning, testing, and acceptance.
  • Liaise with clients, shipyards, OEMs, and classification societies to coordinate survey activities.
  • Provide technical consultancy on maintenance, repair, and operational readiness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, survey records, and issue certificates as required.
  • Ensure all work adheres to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and internal quality procedures.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 2-5 years of experience as a Marine Surveyor, Chief Engineer, Second Engineer, or Technical Superintendent.
  • Strong knowledge of IMO conventions, class rules, and marine codes.
  • Hands‑on experience in engine/machinery inspection, hull and structure surveys, or condition assessments.
  • Familiarity with classification societies (ABS, DNV, BV, LR, etc.).
  • Excellent technical report writing and client communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally for vessel inspections.
