TALENT-MERGE PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced onboard service technician to install, service, and repair marine instrumentation and sensors aboard vessels in Singapore.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 2 years hands-on experience in instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Proficient with instrument software and electrical schematics; able to read technical manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onboard installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of marine instrumentation and sensors.
  • Test, calibrate, adjust, and perform functional checks to ensure accurate performance.
  • Investigate and rectify faults involving marine instruments and electrical systems.
  • Service radar-type level gauge sensors and other marine measurement equipment.
  • Configure and update instrument software and equipment settings per requirements.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, block diagrams, and manuals to identify faults.
  • Determine defective components and recommend spare parts.
  • Resolve technical issues during service assignments with systematic troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with senior engineers and vessel personnel during onboard activities.
  • Compile service reports detailing findings, actions, and replacements for customers.

Job description

Responsibilities
  1. Perform onboard installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of marine instrumentation, gauges, sensors, and related equipment.
  2. Conduct testing, calibration, adjustment, and functional checks on instruments to maintain accurate and reliable equipment performance.
  3. Investigate and rectify faults involving marine instruments, sensors, electrical systems, and associated equipment.
  4. Service radar-type level gauge sensors, air-purge type level gauges, and other marine measurement equipment.
  5. Configure and update instrument software and equipment settings according to technical and operational requirements.
  6. Interpret electrical schematics, block diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation to identify equipment faults.
  7. Determine defective components and recommend appropriate spare parts or replacements required for equipment restoration.
  8. Resolve challenging technical issues encountered during service assignments using systematic troubleshooting and sound electrical knowledge.
  9. Coordinate with senior engineers, vessel personnel, ship management, and shipowners while carrying out onboard service activities with increasing independence.
  10. Compile detailed service reports covering fault findings, work completed, corrective actions, and recommended replacement parts for submission to customers.
Requirements
  1. Minimum Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
  2. 2 years relevant hands-on experience in instrumentation, electrical systems, gauges, sensors, equipment servicing, or a related technical field is preferred.
  3. Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems with practical capabilities in testing, calibration, adjustment, and troubleshooting of instruments and equipment.
  4. PC literate with the ability to work with instrument software, electrical schematics, block diagrams, technical manuals, and related documentation.
  5. Positive and independent working attitude with strong problem-solving abilities, physical fitness to work in tanks and harsh environments, and willingness to work overtime or irregular hours when required.
