Job description

Become a part of our service department and contribute to ensuring our customer with timely, high quality and satisfaction of service jobs performed by Nordan Marine, to realize our vision – To be the internationally preferred service supplier on cargo handling systems.

You will be a part of an international company with 35 employees worldwide, with more to come, as we are growing rapidly. Nordan Marine is a technically and professionally competent company, with extensive knowledge and expertise gained throughout many years in the marine business. We are customer-focused, act as a reliable partner and ensure care-free operation at predictable costs by offering an extensive service portfolio.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Calibration of instrumentation such as float level gauges, pressure and temperature gauges/transmitters, gas detection systems and alarms systems onboard gas carriers.
  • Troubleshooting and/or repair of electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Service and repair of safety relief valves.
  • Attend onboard to perform service, troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Prepare and submit a comprehensive service report and certificate upon completion of work.

The usual length of each job is between 1 to 3 weeks and are normally carried out by 1 to 2 service engineers. All service jobs take place either while sailing or during vessels dry-dock in all parts of the world. Expected travel activity of 160 days annually.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification: Higher Nitec or Diploma in Marine, Mechanical, Automation or equivalent engineering fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience from a similar job - maritime industry is an advantage.
  • Responsible and trustworthy towards customers and colleagues.
  • Proactive, motivated, and strong team player.
  • Loyal, positive and a good sense of humor.
  • Sympathetic and service minded appearance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge from gas carriers is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, willingness to travel overseas on short notice and work irregular hours as needed.
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written.
  • Experienced in documentation and have knowledge of Microsoft office package.
