Job summary

DIESELMECH ASIA PTE. LTD. seeks a skilled diesel engine technician with strong knowledge of slow-speed engines. The role leads a team of technicians to complete service tasks, inspections, installations, repairs and overhauls of diesel engines and auxiliary equipment.

Candidates should communicate with ship owner reps, Class, and subcontractors by email or phone and be prepared to travel extensively. Handwritten reports with photos are required on completion using template formats.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting, installing, repairing, upgrading and overhauling diesel engines.
• Ability to lead technicians and coordinate with customers and sub-contractors.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, install (including engine alignment), repair, upgrade, troubleshoot and overhaul diesel engines and auxiliary equipment.
• Communicate with customer/ship owner reps/Class/sub-contractor via email/phone to arrange work and entry permits.
• Prepare handwritten work reports with data and photos using templates.

Job description

Good knowledge of engines especially slow speed engines which is a must; experience with medium, high speed diesel and gas engine would be an advantage.

Possesses good leadership attributes, able to lead a team of technicians to achieve given task.

Independently to perform inspection, installation (incl. engine alignment), repair, upgrading, troubleshooting and overhaul of diesel engines and auxiliary equipment.

Ability to communicate with customer/ship owner reps/Class/sub-contractor including arrangement of work/entry permit through email and phone.

Be prepared to travel extensively.

Able to prepare a hand-written work done, with data recorded as per format templates and service report with photos, upon completion of job.
