Responsibilities include overseeing the design, commissioning, and maintenance of SMS, and liaising with various stakeholders throughout the vessel life cycle. Ideal candidates should possess a degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with international standards and efficient software configuration.

Job description

Marine Engineer- Ship Management System Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design, development, commissioning and maintenance of Ship Management System (SMS)
• Perform system and architecture design of Ship Management System (SMS).
• Involved in liaising with stakeholders and third party.
• Perform Ship Management Software configuration management and testing.
• Liaise with customers, project manager and other engineering trades.
• Handle the maintenance period of the Vessel Life Cycle (Marine)
• Maintain close working relationships with customer, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in handling Ship Management System (SMS) design, development, commissioning and maintenance.
• Good in handling Vessel Life Cycle (Marine)
• Experience in Site Testing and commissioning.
• Knowledge in PLC programming and SCADA software.
• Knowledge in computer administration, cybersecurity and networking concepts.
• Knowledge in Python, JSON, Restful, Machine Learning and Data Analytics experience will be an advantage.
• Possess Marine industry background (Preferred)

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering in Electrical / Electronics / Computer, those with other engineering experiences are welcome.
• At least 5 years experience in Ship Managment System Architecture Design, System maintenance, and/or Networking
• Knowledge of international codes, Marine Classification/Statutory Rules and Regulations will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of standard industrial protocols like Modbus RTU/TCP, RS422/485, NMEA, CANbus J1939.
• Working Location: Tuas
• Working Hours: 7.25am - 5.00pm
