Job summary

A well-established company in Singapore is seeking a skilled technician/engineer with expertise in diesel engines. The role encompasses inspection, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of diesel engines and auxiliary equipment. Strong leadership qualities and effective communication skills are essential for interacting with various stakeholders. Willingness to travel and document work thoroughly is required. Experience with various engine types will be an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of engines, especially slow-speed engines.
• Experience with medium and high-speed diesel and gas engines is advantageous.
• Strong leadership qualities to lead a team.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Capable of preparing work reports and service reports.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs inspection, installation, repair, upgrading, troubleshooting, and overhaul of diesel engines and auxiliary equipment.
• Communicates effectively with customers, ship owner representatives, classification societies, and sub-contractors.

Job description

· Good knowledge of engines, especially slow-speed engines, is essential. Experience with medium and high-speed diesel and gas engines would be an advantage.

· Possesses strong leadership qualities, capable of leading a team of technicians to achieve assigned tasks.

· Independently performs inspection, installation (including engine alignment), repair, upgrading, troubleshooting, and overhaul of diesel engines and auxiliary equipment.

· Able to communicate effectively with customers, ship owner representatives, classification societies, and sub-contractors, including arranging work and entry permits via email and phone.

· Willing to travel extensively as required.

· Capable of preparing handwritten work reports, recording data as per format templates, and submitting service reports with photos upon job completion.
