Job description

Arc Marine Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a dedicated, experienced hands-on Marine Engine Service Engineer/Technician to join our growing team in Singapore.

The ideal candidate will serve as technical expert together with the team of technicians and fitters to troubleshoot, repair or overhaul ship engines and mechanical components issues, ensuring vessels seaworthy and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities and duties may include but not limited to the following:

  • Understand the job orders and comply with the customer requirements and timeline

  • Plan, organize and execute the repair jobs (inspect, troubleshoot or overhaul) onboard the vessels in yards, ports, anchorages and in the workshop.

  • Coordinate with the Technical Manager for additional jobs upon inspection and ascertainment of minor or major damages not quoted

  • Submit well documented technical service reports and time sheets to be forwarded to all stakeholders within the company and to the customer

  • Strictly adhere to safe work procedures and applicable regulations

  • Participate in skills upgrading training and programs

Qualifications Required

  • Degree or Diploma in mechanical engineer, mechanical technology or mechatronics

  • At least 5 years of service experience of diesel engines, two stroke or four-stroke, gas or dual fuel engines

  • Team player with excellent safety record and good communication skills to deal with diverse team

  • Good communication and coordination with clients, superintendent and shipyard

  • Able to follow vessel schedule and travel domestic or international as project/job demands
