  • Role: Marine Engine Mechanic // Assistant Service Engineer

  • Workshop Based, NO NEED Work at Sea

  • Industry: Contractor in Marine Structure, Jetty & Harbour Construction

  • 5.5 Days | Mon-Fri: 8am-5pm || Sat: 8am-12pm

  • Workshop at Pioneer, Transport Provided from Joo Koon MRT

  • Mechanic: Basic $2,000 - $2,300 + OT Paid

  • Assistant Service Engineer: Basic $3,000 - $3,800

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine inspections and diagnostic tests on marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.

  2. Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks on marine engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, transmissions, steering systems, and other mechanical and electrical components according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

  3. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems that arise during vessel operation, including engine failures, electrical malfunctions, and propulsion system issues.

  4. Install, repair, or upgrade marine equipment, including engines, generators, pumps, winches, and navigation systems, ensuring proper functioning and alignment.

  5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and service performed, to track vessel maintenance history and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, including proper handling of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to safety procedures during repair and maintenance activities.

  7. Coordinate with other marine technicians, engineers, and crew members to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure efficient operation of vessels and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Additional technical education or certification in marine mechanics, diesel engines, or related fields preferred.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a marine mechanic or in a similar mechanical maintenance role, preferably in a marine environment.

  • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with marine diesel engines, outboard motors, and marine electronics is desirable.
