Job summary

ARC MARINE ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Marine Engine Fitter/Technician to join its technical team in Singapore. The role focuses on repair, maintenance, overhaul, and servicing of marine engines and related equipment.

You will carry out installation, dismantling, and testing of engines, pumps, compressors, valves, and ancillary machinery, while reading drawings and working to safety and quality standards on ships and in shipyards in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Experience in marine engine maintenance, ship repair, or heavy machinery fitting.
• Knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke marine diesel engines.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Understanding of marine safety and quality standards.
• Able to work onboard vessels and in shipyard environments.
• Good understanding of Singapore marine shipyard and shipping sector.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, dismantling, repair, and overhaul of marine engines and related equipment.
• Perform maintenance and servicing of diesel engines, pumps, compressors, valves, and auxiliary machinery.
• Inspect engine components and identify defects, wear, or equipment failures.
• Replace faulty parts such as pistons, liners, bearings, seals, gaskets, and filters.
• Align, assemble, and test engine components according to technical specifications.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
• Assist in engine troubleshooting and breakdown repairs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and technical instructions.
• Use precision measuring instruments to check tolerances and clearances.
• Perform pressure testing, leak testing, and operational testing after repairs.
