Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a technically competent Technical Support professional to troubleshoot, maintain, and service marine navigation and communication equipment onboard vessels. You will assist customers and service engineers, support testing and commissioning, and help ensure reliable operation of onboard marine systems.

Responsibilities include first-level support, fault identification, and coordinating with technical teams, with opportunities to visit vessels for on-site assistance

Qualifications

• Diploma or relevant qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related technical discipline.
• Experience in technical support or electronics troubleshooting for at least 1 year.
• Knowledge of marine navigation and communication systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with radar, GPS, AIS, GMDSS, ECDIS, or voyage data recording systems would be an advantage.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a practical approach to resolving technical issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with customers and service teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for marine navigation, communication, and electronic equipment.
• Assist customers and service engineers in identifying equipment faults and resolving technical issues.
• Perform troubleshooting, testing, inspection, and basic diagnostics on marine electronic systems.
• Support equipment installation, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance when required.
• Coordinate with service engineers and relevant technical teams to investigate and resolve complex technical problems.
• Attend vessels or customer sites to provide technical assistance when necessary.
• Prepare technical reports, service documentation, and records of troubleshooting activities.
• Provide guidance to customers and vessel personnel on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting procedures.
• Escalate unresolved technical issues and follow up to ensure appropriate solutions are implemented.
• Support other technical and service-related activities as required.
