The role involves developing diagrams, load analyses, and cable schedules, supporting FAT/HAT, sea trials, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical/Marine Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of shipbuilding/marine or heavy industrial experience.
• Knowledge of marine electrical systems and power distribution.
• Familiar with Classification Society requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD; 3D software is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are partnering with a well-established organisation in the marine and offshore engineering sector to identify an experiencedMarine Electrical Engineer. This role is responsible for the design, review, integration, and commissioning of electrical systems for vessel newbuild and marine engineering projects, ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review and develop electrical engineering designs in accordance with project specifications, applicable regulations, and Classification Society requirements.
• Prepare, review, and maintain engineering documentation, including single-line diagrams, electrical load analysis, power distribution systems, cable schedules, termination drawings, and testing procedures.
• Support the engineering and integration of shipboard electrical systems, including power generation and distribution, switchboards, motor control systems, propulsion support, alarm and monitoring systems, fire detection, navigation, communication, and other vessel electrical equipment.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, equipment manufacturers, and system vendors to ensure successful integration of electrical and automation systems.
• Participate in system design reviews, factory acceptance tests (FAT), harbour acceptance tests (HAT), sea trials, and commissioning activities where required.
• Perform engineering calculations related to cable sizing, protection coordination, circuit protection, and equipment selection.
• Assist in resolving technical issues throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases of projects.
• Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules and quality requirements.
• Provide technical support to project teams and liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, marine, offshore, or heavy industrial engineering.
• Good understanding of marine electrical systems, power distribution, and vessel electrical design.
• Familiarity with Classification Society requirements and recognised marine engineering standards.
• Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD; exposure to 3D engineering software would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of electrical system integration, automation systems, and commissioning activities is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Willing and able to work full-time in Batam, Indonesia.
