A leading biopharma company in Singapore is seeking to hire a Senior Manager for API manufacturing operations. This role involves overseeing production, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and fostering team engagement for performance excellence. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry to drive operational success and strategic initiatives while maintaining customer relations.
To lead the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing operations and deliver Site business objectives aligned with GSK Ambition through efficient and effective Manufacturing and Supply operations, compliance with world class Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Environment Health Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) programme, establishing a culture of continuous improvement and increased productivity.
To engage, energise and inspire the team to deliver tactical and strategic initiatives, aligned with the Site objectives to achieve excellent performance and deliver value to patients and customers.
Manufacturing and Supply Operations
To lead manufacturing operations in ensuring all products are manufactured in accordance with the approved production plan, meeting the required requirements.
To achieve optimal targets in terms of yield, outputs and quantity within budgeted costs and customer requirements.
Quality Compliance
Develop, implement, monitor quality system and promote a good quality culture in the team to ensure all operations comply with approved quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure facilities, system and procedures are always in place and in use to achieve inspection readiness state.
Customer Centric
Maintaining good customer relationship by pro-actively responding to customer needs.
Best in Class Cost
Plan and implement cost reduction measures to ensure all operating costs are within agreed budget and target.
Provide support to site procurement sourcing strategy initiatives.
Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability
Ensure all operations are in accordance with approved EHS standards and promote a highly EHS conscious culture in the team.
Embrace sustainability in operations and cultivate a good sustainability mindset in the team.

To lead, manage, develop, motivate and ensure all personnel have clear performance and development plans through regular check in conversations with the team.

Provide leadership in working with the various business functions for successful introduction and industrialisation of new product or technology.
Embrace and drive the continuous improvement culture within the team to simplify ways of working and motivate the team to work towards zero accidents, zero defects and zero wastes in their line of work.
Risk Management
Ensure effective risk management process with periodic assessment of risk, mitigation, and monitoring of actions.
At least an Honors Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related science discipline.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry with significant experience working in the API manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of commissioning and operating experience of pharmaceutical plants.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations including product and production processes.
Good business knowledge and ability to think strategically, including understanding challenges facing the pharmaceutical business.
Excellent people management and leadership skills.
Strong influencing skills.
Good project management skills.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Good risk assessment and management skills.
Good knowledge in contract management and cost-benefit evaluation.
