Job Description
- Develop and optimize laser drilling processes for precision manufacturing applications.
- Collaborate with design and NPI teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues in laser drilling operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations.
- Define and maintain process parameters, tooling, and equipment settings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, cycle time, and product quality.
- Create and maintain documentation including work instructions, process flows, and control plans.
- Train production staff and technicians on laser drilling procedures and safety protocols.
- Evaluate and implement new laser technologies and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with US, Malaysia and Singapore technical and engineering staffs to resolve any engineering issues that may occur from time to time
- Perform any ad hoc tasks assigned by the manager.
Job Requirement
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on laser drilling or laser-based processes.
- Strong understanding of laser-material interaction, optics, and precision machining.
- Experience with laser drilling equipment (e.g., UV, CO₂, femtosecond lasers) and CNC systems.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
