Job description

Job Description

  • Develop and optimize laser drilling processes for precision manufacturing applications.
  • Collaborate with design and NPI teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues in laser drilling operations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations.
  • Define and maintain process parameters, tooling, and equipment settings.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, cycle time, and product quality.
  • Create and maintain documentation including work instructions, process flows, and control plans.
  • Train production staff and technicians on laser drilling procedures and safety protocols.
  • Evaluate and implement new laser technologies and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Liaise with US, Malaysia and Singapore technical and engineering staffs to resolve any engineering issues that may occur from time to time
  • Perform any ad hoc tasks assigned by the manager.

Job Requirement

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on laser drilling or laser-based processes.
  • Strong understanding of laser-material interaction, optics, and precision machining.
  • Experience with laser drilling equipment (e.g., UV, CO₂, femtosecond lasers) and CNC systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
