Job summary

Agilent Technologies is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Support professional to assist engineers with equipment setup, maintenance and troubleshooting. You will contribute to the development and optimization of manufacturing standards, processes, and quality controls, while supporting material sourcing and documentation.

A 1–3 year background in manufacturing and a Nitec/ Higher Nitec or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is required, with a practical, problem-solving mindset and

• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of both general and technical aspects of the role.
• Hands-on technical aptitude for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical support duties in one or more manufacturing areas, assisting engineers as needed.
• Assist in selection, installation, maintenance, repair and support of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Develop, improve and optimize standards, processes and procedures in the manufacturing environment.
• Assist in qualifying sources of raw materials used in the manufacturing process.
• Use layout plans, blueprints and manuals to set up, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers to test and resolve issues in components, parts, products or processes.
• Compile and maintain applicable documentation.
• May design and/or build tools.

• Responsible for performing a variety of technical support duties in one or more manufacturing areas, which may involve working with and assisting engineers.


• Duties may be related to the selection, installation, maintenance, repair and support of manufacturing equipment; technical support of one or more production/fabrication processes, product testing and troubleshooting; and/or technical analyses and problem-solving.


• Carries out and/or assists in the development, improvement and optimization of standards, processes and procedures in the manufacturing environment, which may include cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance.


• May assist in qualifying sources of raw materials, chemicals and other ingredients used in the manufacturing process.


• May use layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals and rough sketches or drawings to set up, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment and perform maintenance and repairs.


• Works with engineers to develop, execute and track the testing and problem resolution of new and existing components, parts, products or processes/systems.


• Compiles and maintains applicable documentation.


• May design and/or build tools.
