Agilent Technologies Inc. in Singapore seeks an hands-on Electrical/Electronics Engineer to support product quality, manufacturing yield, reliability, and sustaining engineering for complex analytical instruments.
The candidate will troubleshoot at component to system levels, interpret schematics, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with R&D, MSAT, Quality and Operations to improve product robustness and processes.
We are seeking a hands-on Electrical / Electronics Engineer to support product quality, manufacturing yield, reliability improvement, and sustaining engineering activities for complex analytical instruments. The successful candidate will possess strong electrical engineering fundamentals with the ability to troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the component, PCA, module, subsystem, and system levels. This role requires expertise in schematic interpretation, circuit-level debugging, root cause analysis, failure investigation, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, MSAT, Quality, and Operations teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex electronic issues across PCAs, modules, subsystems, and complete instruments using schematic analysis, circuit-level debugging, and structured problem-solving techniques. Perform root cause investigations on manufacturing, qualification, reliability, and field failures, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions. Conduct hands-on troubleshooting of analog, digital, mixed-signal, RF, and high-voltage circuits using appropriate test and measurement equipment. Lead technical investigations of recurring product quality or reliability issues and identify opportunities for long-term improvement. Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Quality, NPI, and R&D teams on product performance and defect-related challenges.
Analyze quality, reliability, and manufacturing performance data to identify trends and drive improvement initiatives. Lead yield improvement activities through systematic defect reduction, failure elimination, and process optimization. Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product robustness, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Support operational excellence initiatives focused on quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction.
Evaluate and qualify changes related to components, materials, suppliers, manufacturing processes, and product designs. Develop qualification plans, execute validation activities, and assess technical risks associated with proposed changes. Prepare engineering documentation including test reports, qualification summaries, risk assessments, and deviation analyses. Support management of End-of-Life (EOL) components and Product Change Notifications (PCNs), including alternative component evaluation and qualification. Provide sustaining engineering support throughout the product lifecycle.
Support the transition of new products from development into volume manufacturing. Evaluate products for manufacturability, testability, reliability, and production readiness. Perform technical assessments of prototype and pre-production builds to identify and resolve issues early in the development cycle. Work closely with R&D and manufacturing teams to improve design robustness and achieve stable production yields.
Develop, optimize, and standardize test stations used for production, qualification, and sustaining engineering activities. Develop, maintain, and enhance PCA and module-level test software/applications, ensuring adequate test coverage, reliability, maintainability, and alignment with product and manufacturing requirements. Improve troubleshooting methodologies and diagnostic processes to increase fault isolation efficiency and repeatability. Support deployment, validation, and continuous improvement of engineering and production test processes. Leverage data analysis tools and techniques to improve diagnostic effectiveness and engineering decision-making.
Ensure compliance with company quality systems, engineering procedures, and documentation requirements. Maintain accurate technical records and support internal and external audits as required. Adhere to applicable regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electronics engineering, product support, sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, or test engineering. Experience supporting complex electronic products in manufacturing or NPI environments is highly desirable.
This job has a full time weekly schedule.
