Job summary

Seagate Singapore (W1) is seeking a seasoned Production Lead to oversee all aspects of the backend HDD manufacturing process. You will direct equipment setup, production, testing and training with high independence, coordinating with Engineering, Quality and Planning teams.

Location is Woodlands; the role requires 12-hour shifts, weekend and public holiday work, and hands-on leadership of a small team. Prior senior-operator or line-leader experience is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum > 6 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Experience as a senior operator, trainer, line leader or cell lead.
• Back-End manufacturing experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all aspects of the production process, including equipment setup, fabrication, testing, and training with high independence.
• Manage manpower deployment in production areas and operate various automatic or semi-automatic machines.
• Perform complex electrical tasks as part of assembly, contributing to cutting-edge products.
• Conduct on-the-job training for new hires and existing operators; act as line trainer.
• Ensure adherence to Work Instructions and quality standards; collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Planning teams.
• Support process and manufacturing improvements; participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with reporting, tracking, and escalation of key operational metrics.
• Handle labelling, packaging, palletising of parts and materials; assist in moving equipment.

About our group:

The Production Operations organization at Seagate Singapore (W1) is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, and cost-efficient backend HDD manufacturing output. The team oversees 24/7 factory operations, workforce planning, operational excellence, production control, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to support Seagate’s global supply chain and customer commitments.

About the role - you will:

• Lead and responsible for all aspects of the production process, including equipment set-up and maintenance, production/fabrication, test, production training, and machine/tool making with higher independence.
• Manage manpower deployment and activities in production area(s) including setting up and operating a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines used in the production of the company's product.
• Perform complex electrical tasks as part of the assembly process, contributing to the production of cutting-edge products.
• Able to conduct On-The-Job training for new hires and existing operators.
• Act as line trainer, ensuring adherence to Work Instructions and quality standards.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams to resolve issues.
• Support process and manufacturing improvement, participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support reporting, tracking, and escalation of key operational metrics.
• Perform process related to Labelling, Packing & Palletizing of Parts, Boxes, Pallet, etc.
• Perform Handling/ Shifting of Parts/ Equipment involving the use of lifting equipment.

About you:

• Proven ability to lead and coordinate a small team in the production environment.
• Good understanding in English (reading and understanding Work Instructions).
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Be adaptable and willing to take on other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
• Physically able to carry work items up to 3kg.
• Able to stand and walk for extended hours (4 to 7 hours).
• Willing to work 12-hrs shift.
• Prepared to work on Weekends and Public Holidays.
• Shift Pattern: Work 3 days, Rest 2 days or Work 2 days, Rest 3 days (3-2-2-3 Work Pattern)
• Day Shift : 7.30am - 7.45pm
• Night Shift : 7.30pm - 7.45am
• Meal & Rest Break: 45 mins & 30 mins

Your experience includes:

• Prior experiences in the Back-End manufacturing industry an advantage.
• Prior experience as a senior operator, trainer, line leader or cell lead.
• Minimum > 6 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
