About our group:

The RMO Material Science Laboratory is part of the Asia Media Development group, based at Seagate Woodlands 1. The laboratory is equipped with multiple wet chemistry and surface analytical instruments/tools, and the primary function is to provide analytical tests/solutions for media qualification to improve media yield, quality, and reliability. The department also plays a critical role in HDM tribology, corrosion, outgoing media quality, defect and particle/contamination reduction by working closely with other functional departments, thus enabling other disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Recording Technology, R&D, Customer Integration, and Manufacturing. This role reports to an Engineering Manager.

About the role - you will:
  • Operate surface analytical instruments/tools such as SEM/EDX, Candela OSA, sputter coater, etc., to carry out media defect and particle analysis.
  • Compile analysis results for review by senior staff.
  • Work closely in a small team of 4-6 people in a laboratory environment under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Update and communicate job status to senior staff and team members.
About you:
  • A collaborative team player with a positive attitude, proactive mindset, and strong work ethic.
  • Willing to work overtime (OT) when needed.
  • Can communicate in basic English.
  • Responsible and committed to work.
  • Willing to work a permanent 12-hour day shift.
Your experience includes:
  • Some experience working in a manufacturing and/or laboratory environment is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
