Job description

Summary:

Successful candidate is responsible for transforming raw materials into final product per the required production schedule. The successful candidate will acquire hands-on skills and experience and apply them to routinely manufacture Vespel products. The Specialist will be responsible for the manufacturing process from raw materials through final inspection and release to the ultimate customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating in a high performance work environment as a member of various teams leading efforts to improve operations-related systems (safety, quality, continuous improvement, personnel, and supply chain).
  • Plan work by studying work orders, prints, materials, specifications and machining parameters.
  • Press set up and operation - tooling installation, removal, cleaning and adjustments, resin selection, fill hopper and monitoring, material handling, process documentation.
  • Able to troubleshoot and rework parts when needed
  • Sintering & tumbling- cycle selection and verification, purge-gas flow, oven operation, oven cycle documentation. Tumbler and media selection, plus material handling of parts.
  • Final inspection - verification of part dimensions, final release sign-off.
  • Packaging – Packing and labeling activities, able to release product for shipment
  • Conduct basic maintenance activities on processing equipment.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Troubleshooting on issues encountered and able to support continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to work safely and follow 5S requirements a must.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate/NiTEC, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Engineering (Material Science), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Engineering (Metal Fabrication/Tool & Die/Welding) or equivalent
  • Able to perform rotating shift work
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Preferably Technicians specializing in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive, Engineering (Metal Fabrication/Tool & Die/Welding) or equivalent
