is seeking an experienced MSAT System Engineer to optimize design and manufacturing of mechanical and mechatronics assemblies and complete instrument products for ICP-MS mass spectrometers. You will act as the technical liaison between R&D, Quality and Manufacturing, translating product innovations into scalable, high-performance manufacturing solutions at our Singapore factory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with CAD tools and PCBA design/qualification processes is expected.
• Strong English communication and ability to work in cross-functional teams are essential.
• Knowledge of Design-for-Excellence (DfX) and DoE/VE approaches is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical/mechatronic assemblies and PCBA modules through the full product lifecycle from development to obsolescence.
• Collaborate with R&D, Global Manufacturing, Product Marketing, and Quality teams to transfer products to mass production.
• Lead NPI activities and ensure DfX, cost, manufacturability, and automation considerations are integrated.
• Support industrialization and platform standardization across Agilent’s global factories.
• Provide technical leadership and share innovations to improve scalability of manufacturing systems.

Job description

Job Description To strengthen our Global Operations Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) team, we are looking for a MSAT System Engineer responsible for optimized design and manufacturing of mechanical and mechatronics assemblies, modules, and complete instrument-products. In this role, you will act as the technical liaison between R&D, Quality and Manufacturing, translating product innovation into scalable, high-performance manufacturing solutions for Agilent’s analytical instrumentation platforms at the Singapore factory site. The target product family is: ICP-MS Mass Spectrometers. You will contribute to process industrialization, technology transfer, and platform standardization, while working in a global, cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Own critical mechanical and/or mechatronic assemblies, printed circuit assemblies (PCA/PCBA), electronics modules, and complete products within the MSAT platform team -- throughout the full product lifecycle, from development through obsolescence. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Global Manufacturing, Product Marketing, Global Supply Chain, Quality Science & Technology (QSAT) and other engineering groups. For NPI projects, serve as the central Global Operations technical point of contact, representing the factory/production system. Contribute as a key member of cross-functional project teams to transfer new products from development into serial production. Apply DfX principles to address requirements for quality, cost, manufacturability, assembly, and automation in NPI projects. Innovation champion for impactful improvements to the Agilent manufacturing system. Demonstrate excellence in sharing innovations for scalability across Agilent’s factories.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Leadership & Industrialization

Act as central Global Operations technical interface in NPI, representing the manufacturing operations and coordinating stakeholders. Counterpart to R&D Technical Lead and cross-functional business team. Lead the transfer of new products from development into mass production. Ensure application of Design-for-Excellence (DfX) across cost, manufacturability, quality, and automation. Collaborate with R&D on product development, validation, and manufacturability readiness. Influence design to ensure scalability, supply chain and process robustness, and manufacturability. Define system-level manufacturing concepts, test strategies, and industrialization approach. Lead prototype ramp, reliability validation, and evaluate launch readiness.

Technology Platform Engineering

Serve as Technical Owner on critical & key platform technology processes across the full lifecycle, from development to obsolescence. Ensures Value Creation across cost, quality, reliability delivery, supply robustness, and global product engineering strategy. Lead root cause investigations and systemic corrective actions for complex & cross-functional technical issues escalated from the factory team. Establish risk-based qualification strategies and action plans for new step-function improvements. Contribute to platform-level process standards and best practices. Support development of scalable architectures for assembly, calibration, and testing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Working knowledge of Chemistry and Physics are desired skills. Relevant 8+ years of experience in a comparable engineering role. Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken. Proven project management and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Solid understanding of complex technical systems and related development and manufacturing processes. Experience with technical drawings and CAD tools. Experience in PCBA design, manufacturing and qualification processes. Knowledge of engineering methods such as FMEA, DoE, DfX, Value Engineering (VE) or similar approaches is a plus. Structured, goal-oriented, and self-driven way of working. Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, especially in international and cross-functional settings. Strong ownership mindset and readiness to take responsibility for technical decisions and project outcomes.
