Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Singapore to develop and maintain manufacturing methods, operating sequences, and processes for parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.   • Develop and maintain master production schedules (MPS) aligned with capacity and resource availability to meet CLIP.
  • Track Fab KPIs, analyze production data, and report on schedule performance and material status.
  • Lead and manage continuous improvement projects on CLIP performance including RTD and line automation.

As a Manufacturing Engineer

you are responsible for developing and maintaining methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You'll work closely with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and you'll use engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Your expertise in lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving higher levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness. You'll develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to identify root cause issues and solutions that ensure operational success.

Role Responsibilities
  • Responsible for meeting move, output, cycle time and CLIP.
  • Update Fab daily performance and set clear direction in daily Operations meeting.
  • Daily collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet customer delivery.
  • Continuously monitor and identify potential short and mid-term potential line bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and implement quick recovery plans.
  • Develop and maintain master production schedules (MPS), aligning with capacity and resource availability to meet customer CLIP.
  • Track Fab Key Performance Indicators, analyze production data, and report on schedule performance and material status to management.
  • Lead and manage continuous improvement projects on CLIP performance including RTD and line automation.
Functional Knowledge

Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication operations preferred. RTD software experience preferred.

Has a good understanding of how related teams coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve objectives.

May act as a lead for the team, may allocate work and provide subject matter guidance to more junior team members.

Physical Requirements

This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools. Additionally, because this position also may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.
