Job summary

MERITOR HEAVY VEHICLE SYSTEMS (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive improvements in manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety.

You will lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with Operations, Production and Quality to deliver safe, high-quality output. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, capital equipment procurement, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related STEM field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or production environment.
• Proven experience leading manufacturing improvement projects and capital investment initiatives.
• Experience coaching junior engineers or technicians.
• Collaboration with Operations, Production, and Quality teams to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer – Senior to join our team in Gul Way, Singapore. This will be following Onsite work model.

Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
• Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.
• Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members. Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
• Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.
• Maintains relationships and coaches’ key stakeholders.

• Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.
• Process Documentation - Produces written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence which are followed correctly by all approved stakeholders to establish continuity in processes and standardization.
• Tool and Fixture Design - Selects work-piece-holding devices capable of effectively holding parts and products during a manufacturing process to secure their position to meet functional requirements.
• Values differences - Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
• Continuous Process Improvement - Recognizes areas in which a process can be improved by properly implementing process improvement and waste reduction methodologies to reduce process cost and improve quality incurrent manufacturing processes.
• Ergonomics Process and Workplace Design - Designs, creates or adapts processes and workstations by implementing ergonomic controls through the application of the Cummins ergonomic design guidelines to reduce risk and deliver ergonomically designed work.
• Problem Solving - Solves problems and may mentor others on effective problem solving by using a systematic analysis process byleveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and ensures actionsto prevent problem reoccurrence are implemented.
• Workstation Design - Designs operator workstations that are safe, healthy, and ergonomic while accounting for cost, quality, and delivery to contribute to an efficient work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM discipline. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, or production environment, preferably within high-volume manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading manufacturing improvement projects, equipment implementation, process optimization, and capital investment initiatives.
• Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
• Experience collaborating closely with Manufacturing Operations, Production, and Quality teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor, and guide junior engineers or technicians while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with manufacturing operation and quality
