As a Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE), this role reports to the MDE Manager (Electrical Electronics) and is accountable for all technical and quality issues related to assigned electronic subassemblies.
Handle daily production escalation and provide strong technical support to the production team to resolve issues and ensure the system meets the shipment schedule as planned.
Provide solutions to CSE (Customer Support Engineer) during field escalations.
Dispose of non-conformance products and work closely with the PCBA supplier on quality and process continuous improvement.
Respond to failure analysis and provide comprehensive analysis reports to the field support team or customers. Implement corrective actions to systematically fix problems.
Collaborate with the material team on product cost reduction, EOL component replacement, relocation of manufacturing sites, and any engineering support needed.
Write ECOs for any product changes and ensure proper implementation.
Be accountable for supplier quality and OOBQ yield. Audit supplier processes and quality control as necessary.
Support the design team on ICT and functional test setups. Understand product test theory and provide guidance on product repair and troubleshooting. Transfer test solutions to PCBA suppliers and train their teams to handle products effectively.
Act as the manufacturing representative in PCA design reviews. Provide inputs to the design team to ensure new designs meet DFM and DFT requirements, and support the design team with manufacturing documentation and the new product release process.
Work closely with the PCA design team and manufacturing system team on the introduction of new designed tools to production. Ensure project timelines are met and ramp-up plans are fulfilled.
