Job summary

Roche Singapore is seeking a Biochemical Manufacturing Operator to join our team. You will support the Biochemical Manufacturing Department, performing equipment prep, cleaning, sterilization, solution preparation, and process control duties.

You will monitor operations, sample materials, document tasks, and ensure adherence to cGMP and safety guidelines. The role requires a Diploma in Life Sciences or Engineering, with at least 3 years of related biotech/pharma experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Life Sciences or Engineering is required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience for diploma holders.
• Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical environments is preferred.
• Strong problem solving, interpersonal and team skills are essential.
• Self-starter with emphasis on safety, quality, detail and results.
• Willing to work weekends, off-shifts and overtime as required.
• Must be able to carry heavy loads up to 25 kg.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with computer-based systems are desirable.
• Background in microbiology, fermentation, or protein purification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Biochemical Manufacturing by working within the group to meet goals.
• Complete assigned tasks: prepare equipment, clean/sterilize vessels, prepare solutions.
• Monitor and operate biochemical processing equipment and sample materials.
• Document tasks per approved manufacturing formulas.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process problems as needed.
• Support process improvement initiatives and data entry on process controls.
• Operate computers for process control and data entry.
• Participate in staff and shift change meetings with other teams.
• Ensure safety requirements are followed and report incidents promptly.

The Opportunity

This position has overall accountability for completing the manufacturing tasks as scheduled while in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and Roche’s corporate principles, quality policies and standards.

• Support the Biochemical Manufacturing Department by working effectively within the group to meet department goals and objectives.
• Responsible for completing assigned tasks which may include preparing small equipment, cleaning and sterilizing vessels, preparing solutions, monitoring and operation biochemical processing equipment, raw materials sampling, dispensing and environmental monitoring sampling and maintain housekeeping of the areas while adhering to Safety, cGMP and Biochemical Manufacturing guidelines.
• Assigned tasks must be prioritized and work must be documented per approved manufacturing formulae
• Troubleshoot equipment and process problems
• Support process improvement efforts.
• Operate computers for process control and data entry.
• Participate in staff and shift change meetings and work closely with other shift personnel and external support groups
• Ensure all assigned tasks are performed as per safety requirement. Report safely incident and near misses on a timely basis and support SHE in incident investigation

• Comply with all RSTO’s Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) requirements, never put oneself and others at safety & health risks, and report any workplace accidents, near misses and hazards as soon as practicable

Who You Are

• Diploma in Life Sciences or Engineering discipline or equivalent holders
• Minimum 3 years of related working experience for diploma equivalent holders with combination of education and relative work experience
• Related working experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical operating environment is preferred
• Must possess good problem solving, interpersonal communication and team skills.
• Must be a self-starter with a strong focus on safety, quality, details and results.
• Must be able to work weekends, off-shifts and overtime as required.
• Must be able to carry heavy loads of up to 25kg
• Mechanical aptitude and a familiarity with computer based systems are highly desirable
• Background in microbiology, fermentation, or protein purification is desired
