Job summary

Guidepost Global Education (GGE) invites qualified educators to lead a Model Classroom at our Singapore campus. You will maintain a Montessori prepared environment and supervise children to ensure safety and correct teacher-to-child ratios.

You will collaborate with Guides and a Montessori Mentor to deliver sequential lessons, observe progress, and communicate with parents, contributing to a warm, respectful learning community.

Qualifications

• Advance Diploma or Degree in (Early childhood) Education major
• Fully fluent in Mandarin
• Experience working with children aged 3-6 years
• Growth mindset and problem-solving approach
• LON (L2) from ECDA indicating qualification to teach in Singapore
• AMS (American Montessori Society) Montessori credentials is a plus
• AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) Montessori credentials is a plus
• MACTE ( Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education) Montessori credentials is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead a Model Classroom
• Maintain an orderly Montessori prepared environment in accordance to Guidepost Montessori standards
• Provide close supervision to children, ensuring safety and proper teacher-to-child ratios
• Work closely with other Guides to ensure a high-quality Montessori programming
• Present sequential Montessori lessons in accordance with the Guidepost Montessori program standards
• Observe each child, document progress, and apply Montessori principles to meet individual needs
• Interact with children in a warm, joyful, respectful manner
• Implement feedback from Guides, Montessori Mentor, and Head of School
• Open classroom to regular parent tours and observations
• Provide Exceptional Customer Service to Parents
• Communicate with each parent using approved tools (email, photos, newsletters)
• Provide cumulative feedback to parents, including conferences and progress reports
• Create a Strong Community on Campus
• Participate in team meetings and one-on-one meetings with leadership
• Engage in community outreach and parent information events
• Pursue annual professional development

Core Job Responsibilities

• Lead a Model Classroom
• Maintain an orderly and clean Montessori prepared environment in accordance to Guidepost Montessori standards
• Provide close supervision to children, always making sure they are safe, and the group is in compliance with city-mandated teacher to child ratios
• Work closely with other Guide(s) to ensure a high-quality Montessori programming is established and maintained
• Present sequential Montessori lessons in accordance with the Guidepost Montessori program standards
• Observe each child, regularly document his or her progress, strengths, interests, and areas for improvement, and apply your knowledge of Montessori principles to ensure each child's individual needs are met
• Interact with children in a warm, joyful, respectful manner that fosters their independence
• Implement feedback provided by other Guides, your Montessori Mentor, and your Head of School
• Problem-solve challenging student concerns with other Guides, your Montessori Mentor, and your Head of School
• Open classroom to regular parent tours
• Open classroom to observation by parents and other staff members
• Provide Exceptional Customer Service to Parents
• Communicate regularly with each parent in an individualized manner using approved communication tools provided by Guidepost Montessori (i.e. email, photo-sharing software, newsletters, etc).
• Provide cumulative, formal feedback to parents on student progress, which might include twice-yearly parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, and/or portfolio preparation. Meet with parents on an individualized basis to discuss and resolve student issues as they arise
• Create a Strong Community on Campus
• Participate in regular team meetings
• Participate in one-on-one meetings with your school leader and Montessori Mentor
• Participate in community outreach, classroom celebrations, and parent information events
• Actively participate and pursue annual professional development

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, all applicants must possess one of the following credentials:

• Advance Diploma or Degree in (Early childhood) Education major
• Fully fluent in Mandarin
• Experience working with children of the appropriate age group (3-6 years)
• Growth mindset and problem-solving approach
• LON (L2) from ECDA indicating your qualification to teach in Singapore.
