Job description
We are hiring a Mandarin-speaking preschool teacher for a respected early childhood centre near Marine Parade. The centre specializes in small group Mandarin classes for children aged 0 to 5. These classes focus on whole-brain development. Parents will accompany their children during lessons. The goal is to build character, confidence, and emotional growth through fun, values-based learning.
If you enjoy working with toddlers, feel confident teaching in Mandarin, and are comfortable engaging parents during lessons, this role could be suitable for you.

About the Role
You will lead small-group Mandarin classes with about 6 children and their parents. You will receive curriculum support and training. However, you are expected to update the lesson content each month based on the children’s progress. You will also document each child’s development and work closely with the parents to support learning at home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach small-group Mandarin classes with toddlers and accompanying parents
  • Refresh lesson materials every month to suit the children’s level
  • Track each child’s learning and write short notes on their progress
  • Communicate clearly with parents during and after lessons
  • Keep the classroom and materials clean and well-organized
  • Work with other teachers as a team to support the children and families

Job Requirements:

  • Speaks clear and fluent Mandarin
  • Holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education – Teaching (Chinese) [DECCE-T (Chinese)]
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching in a preschool classroom (not private tutoring)
  • Confident teaching in front of both children and parents
  • Friendly, patient, calm, and able to adjust to changes
  • HSK Level 5 or higher is a bonus
  • The role includes supporting children with toileting and close contact care. Applicants should be comfortable with these tasks

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time: 5 days per week
  • Choose one of two options: (a) 3 weekdays + 2 weekends, or (b) 4 weekdays + 1 weekend
  • Working hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (including a 1-hour lunch break)

Salary: This job uses a tier-based salary system based on how many children you teach per week (called student contact hours).

  • During probation: $3,500 per month
  • Target salary after probation (Tier 2): $4,800 to $5,100 per month
  • Higher tiers may reach up to $6,800 per month if you teach more children
