We are hiring an experienced Managing Director based in Singapore.

Job Overview

ZwickRoell is looking for an experienced executive to provide overall vision and direction for ZwickRoell in the ASEAN countries, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia & New Zealand. He/she will be responsible for leading the organisation through performance and process improvement, setting budget and overall direction, and reporting and forecasting. The position requires close coordination and strong working relationships with regional functional departments as well as division and headquarters’ functional leaders. This position reports to the Regional CEO of ZwickRoell in Asia (excluding China).

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops, coordinates, and implements regional as well as country-specific strategic initiatives derived from the overall corporate strategy to excite existing as well as to win new international and regional customers from competitive market players.
  • Gathers and understands insights of regional customers’ needs in their business environment by actively approaching them in regular visits in the focus countries. Considers, interprets, and shares relevant findings within the ZwickRoell Group and regional stakeholders.
  • Assures the ZwickRoell values, processes, tools, and guidelines are implemented, lived, and further developed within the ZwickRoell Singapore team.
  • Sustainably develops specific marketing, sales and aftersales initiatives involving relevant stakeholders and suppliers, in close and regular coordination with the headquarters.
  • Actively develops the regional ZwickRoell entities and partner channels, assuring corporate risk and compliance guidelines are understood, implemented, and followed.
  • Reports and reviews current and forecasted business as well as the situation and trends of the related business environment within an established reporting and management system. Further develops and manages operation excellence sustainably in all operational disciplines, utilizing existing and evolving new software and process tools linked to the ZwickRoell global CRM and business intelligence systems.
  • Builds up and contributes with own specific expertise in one of the major industries/segments within materials testing applications to be a recognized discussion partner for customers and stakeholders.
  • Builds up partnerships, networks and cooperation with customers, relevant associations, key decision-makers, and influencers.
  • Takes full order entry as well as profit and loss responsibility for the Annual budget.
  • In strong cooperation with the local management team, you identify growth opportunities, ensure the efficiency and profitability of business activities, and implement successful risk management.
  • Leads a high-performing team, creates a respectful corporate culture with a motivating work environment to promote employee development.
  • Leadership skills are defined by transparent communication of company goals and strategies, as well as the establishment of clear performance standards and expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with country-specific and company internal regulations, as well as legal requirements.
  • Responsible for Bizsafe certification/compliance and management in Singapore, and governance of a subsidiary in Korea and branch/representative offices in Taiwan, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Your profile

Education

  • Preferred bachelor’s in engineering or business/operational management
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including interpretation of financial statements and understanding of governance principles
  • Strong communications skills displayed through effective written communications, both technical and non-technical, and the ability to present in a manner of influence and impact
  • Experience
  • 7-10 years of experience within a precision industrial equipment company, of which at least 5-7 years in a managerial role
  • Regional experience in business development related to technical investment goods and services in one or more of the following key industries: plastics, metals, automotive or medical/pharmaceutical.
  • Successful in managing direct and indirect sales and service channels, partner management for at least 8 years in a management position, including personnel responsibilities.
  • Successful track-record in growing high value-add precision industrial equipment using customer value propositions and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Proven intercultural experience and knowledge to successfully manage local and regional teams within ASEAN and/or Taiwan.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Language skill of Mandarin or Bahasa would be an advantage as this position will handle our key market in Singapore, Taiwan and Indonesia region
  • 20% to 30% travel requirement within Asia, and occasionally to Germany and Austria.
  • Proficient in Korean and English language
