What you will do

The Managing Director, Planning & Engineering will lead and oversee the Flight Network Operations Center (FNOC), ensuring network on-time performance, and high-quality service reliability. This role involves strategic leadership, logistics coordination, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction and drive operational/service excellence.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  1. Flight Network Planning & Operational Execution
    • Oversee end-to-end planning, monitoring, and execution of parcel/freight movements across the network under the FMC framework.
    • Ensure alignment between demand and capacity in real time to optimize network efficiency and service performance.
    • Develop and implement network contingency plans to mitigate disruptions and maintain service continuity.
  2. Service Performance & Quality Management
    • Drive on-time performance and service reliability across all operational segments.
    • Lead the design and execution of service quality programs, including performance planning, KPI tracking, and service analytics.
    • Monitor network performance and initiate corrective actions to resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
  3. Process Optimization & Technology Enablement
    • Champion continuous process improvements through re-engineering and workflow simplification.
    • Collaborate with Technology and Engineering teams to deploy digital tools that enhance visibility, automation, and performance monitoring.
    • Foster a data-driven culture by integrating analytics into operational decision-making.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
    • Serve as the central point of contact for operational communication with key internal stakeholders (e.g., RMCC, CE, Sales).
    • Proactively engage stakeholders to provide shipment visibility, resolve service issues, and align expectations.

You will be a great fit if you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven track record in operations management, planning or engineering roles, preferably in logistics, express, supply chain, or freight/airline industries.
  • Strong background in process-driven execution, with demonstrated experience in process re-engineering and operational optimization.
  • Technologically savvy – experienced in implementing or leading technology transformation projects.
  • Skilled in managing real-time demand and capacity planning with hands-on operational oversight.
  • Experience in managing service performance and operational KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, service quality metrics)
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills across cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
