The Manager, Business Development is an active team member contributing to sales targets, opportunity generation, and closing deals with Mastercard Advisors clients. While not expected to be a subject matter expert in the payment cards industry, they should demonstrate expertise in consulting sales management and professional problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop relevant and value-creating analysis and insights for clients.
- Build strategies, propositions, and operating models independently or as part of a consulting team.
- Apply a range of quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques to identify client issues.
- Synthesize analysis into clear, sound proposals and recommendations, and take responsibility for structuring and writing reports and steering committee presentations to high standards.
- Manage small to medium engagements, including overall project management and resource identification.
- Develop effective relationships with mid to senior-level client management.
- Implement and communicate strategies to achieve goals, acting as an advisor and maintaining ongoing relationships with client executives.
- Proactively seek new knowledge and skills and facilitate the development of intellectual capital.
- Support Mastercard Advisors and local market account teams in client relationship management and business development efforts.
Experience:
- Proven consulting experience at a top-rated firm or equivalent business management experience and internal consulting experience in a major financial institution.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
- Professional-level English language capability is required.
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret large, ambiguous data sets and translate findings into concise recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Excellent client and engagement management skills.
- Proven team player with the ability to work across all levels in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
