Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in engineering development, R&D strategy formulation, technology planning, or programme management.
• Proven ability to support and drive technology and R&D strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Deep understanding of emerging tech, market developments and competitor environments.
• Demonstrated success in forming and managing collaborations with academic institutions, start-ups and industry partners.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop, refine, and implement R&D and technology strategies that complement business objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and competitive positioning.
• Emerging Technology Scouting: Continuously monitor and analyse emerging technology trends, competitor activities, and market research data to advise on opportunities and potential risks, facilitating informed strategic planning.
• Partnership and Ecosystem Engagement: Develop and nurture partnerships with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), Research Institutes (RIs), start-ups, and industry stakeholders to integrate best practices and fuel an innovation-driven culture within the organisation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster and maintain effective collaboration across engineering functions and technology domains to enable cohesive project execution and knowledge sharing.
• Communication and Stakeholder Management: Deliver clear, insightful presentations and reports translating complex technical information into actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders.
