Job Title: Manager-Supply Chain & Procurement

About the Role

This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement and supply chain functions, including sourcing, purchasing, logistics, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in optimizing processes, reducing costs, improving efficiency, and ensuring timely delivery of products.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management:

  • Supplier Sourcing: Identify and engage with new suppliers to ensure the company has access to competitive pricing, high-quality products, and reliable delivery schedules.
  • Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers and vendors to ensure favorable deals and long-term relationships.
  • Purchasing: Oversee the purchasing process, ensuring that orders are placed timely and goods are delivered as per contractual agreements.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply continuity and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and control procurement expenses to meet the company’s budget and savings targets.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement processes comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.

Supply Chain Management:

  • Logistics & Transportation: Oversee the transportation and logistics functions, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
  • Inventory Control: Manage and optimize inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing storage and holding costs. Work closely with the procurement team to balance supply and demand.
  • Warehousing: Supervise warehouse operations, including storage, handling, and dispatch of goods, ensuring that inventory is managed efficiently.
  • Order Fulfillment: Ensure timely processing and delivery of customer orders, and work with internal teams to address any challenges in order fulfillment.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize supply chain processes to reduce costs, improve lead times, and increase overall efficiency.
  • Data & Reporting: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain and procurement performance, and prepare regular reports for senior management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with sales, production, and finance departments to ensure alignment between procurement, inventory levels, and customer demand.
  • Forecasting & Demand Planning: Collaborate with the forecasting and demand planning teams to anticipate demand and adjust procurement and supply chain activities accordingly.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field. A Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related roles, with at least 1 years in a managerial position
  • Proven experience in managing procurement strategies, logistics, inventory, and supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management software and tools.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems, procurement, and supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
  • Good understanding of inventory management, logistics, and order fulfilment.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to travel for supplier meetings, site visits, or other operational needs (if required).
  • Strong understanding of procurement laws, regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with occasional site visits to warehouses, suppliers, or other operational facilities.

Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods, such as stock audits or urgent procurement needs.
