About the role
You develop content and manage the Republic of Singapore Navy's (RSN) social media channels while providing subject matter expertise for communications initiatives.


What you will be working on


  • Conceptualise and produce content for the RSN social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube channels
  • Research and implement new social media trends
  • Develop content and channel-specific approaches to enable channel growth
  • Monitor and engage with social media audiences
  • Support incident management communications
  • Provide expertise for long-form content
  • Coordinate and provide guidance or templates to ground units on the type of visuals to capture
  • Manage combat camera crew or production team to produce the content or liaising with other MINDEF/SAF agencies for visuals
  • Plan and manage social media calendar


Challenge(s)


  • Managing multiple projects concurrently and producing sufficiently-differentiated content for multiple platforms consistently to maintain channel health
  • Translating military concepts and ideas into interesting nuggets for target audience engagement, while balancing creative approaches with positive portrayal of the RSN
  • Staying abreast of latest trends and developments, not only on social media, but also in the larger communications landscape


What we are looking for


  • Education in Mass Communications, Advertising or Marketing
  • At least 5 years of media industry experience
  • Familiarity with the features of the media platforms that the RSN is currently on, as well as be familiar with up-and-coming techniques and trends
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Quick learning capability
  • Stress management skills
