Job description

What the role is:

The Smart Nation Group – Digital Government (SNDG), under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and administratively managed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), plans and prioritizes key Smart Nation and digital government projects, raises the standards of Government ICT and services, builds long-term capabilities for the public sector, and promotes adoption and participation in digital and smart innovations. It takes a whole-of-nation effort, and we will actively engage the public, the industry and fellow agencies as we build a Smart Nation together.The Government Data Division (GDD) within SNDG plays a central policymaking role in advancing data governance excellence across the public sector. Its responsibilities include: (a) formulating and implementing whole-of-government (WOG) data policies that guide the strategic management, sharing, and utilisation of data as a national asset; (b) identifying and driving new initiatives to improve the exchange of data within Government agencies, and sharing of Government data with commercial partners and the public; and (c) strengthening data governance by developing policies relating to responsible use of data, as well as driving the development of capabilities, institutionalizing structures and standardising tools for WOG.

What you will be working on:

We are looking for someone with experience in policy and capability building, with good grasp of data management, governance and related domain knowledge.You will be part of a team refreshing strategies, spearheading capability development policy and efforts, and driving the implementation of high-impact initiatives to advance public sector data governance outcomes. Key initiatives include• Analyse and plan for public sector data governance workforce• Develop training roadmap and comprehensive training, to enhance local pipeline and upskilling opportunities• Refresh competency framework, design career pathways, and put in place structured career development• Explore attraction/ retention strategies for the workforce• Establish, and implement, Community of PracticeThis role offers a unique opportunity work with stakeholders to shape capability development policies at a systems level and drive their implementation across the public sector.
