About the Role
We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Team Lead to lead trade development, incl. demand generation, content marketing, and market research initiatives. This role will be pivotal in bridging the sales, marketing, and insights functions to drive advertiser engagement, build thought leadership, and uncover growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in trade development, GTM strategies, sector marketing, and research-backed strategies to position us as the preferred choice for advertisers in the media industry.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Design and lead strategies across trade marketing, demand generation, content marketing, and market research to drive advertiser acquisition and retention.
Oversee GTM strategies for new products and solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
Foster collaboration across sales, marketing, and insights teams, ensuring strategies are data-informed and aligned.
Market Research & Communication
Conduct in-depth market research and analysis of industry trends, audience behaviors, and competitive landscapes to inform marketing strategies.
Leverage market (local & regional) research, sector insights, and advertiser feedback to provide actionable recommendations.
Develop high-quality, research-driven content such as case studies, blogs, newsletters, and videos to engage advertisers.
Ensure consistency in brand messaging across marketing channels, leveraging research insights for targeted communication.
Demand Generation
Design and execute targeted demand generation campaigns to attract and convert high-value advertisers.
Implement multi-channel strategies (email, paid media, content marketing, and webinars) to generate qualified leads and nurture existing accounts.
Collaborate with the sales team to align on lead generation goals, pipeline management, and conversion optimization.
Advertiser/Partner Marketing and Engagement
Strategize and execute trade/sector/account-based marketing initiatives to strengthen relationships with key advertisers and partners.
Oversee the creation of marketing assets (e.g., media kits, case studies, success stories) to showcase unique value propositions.
Guide cross-platform advertiser-focused campaigns spanning print, digital, radio, and outdoor media.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings, promoting solutions and sharing research-backed insights.
Develop strategy for events, webinars, and workshops tailored to advertisers, highlighting our unique value and research expertise.
Operational Excellence
Manage trade marketing and demand generation budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and maximum ROI.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and high-quality campaign execution.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
8+ years of experience in trade marketing, demand generation, or media sales, preferably in the publishing or media industry.
Proven leadership experience in managing trade marketing campaigns and cross-functional teams.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of executing revenue-driving initiatives.
Expertise in CRM tools like Salesforce, marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo), and analytics tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive business impact.
Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and campaign optimization.
