Job description

What the role is:

The job holder will support the Deputy Director (International Relations) in setting the strategic direction for Singapore’s international space engagements across bilateral and multilateral domains and shape Singapore’s international positioning and space diplomacy agenda.

What you will be working on:

This role will represent Singapore at high-level platforms and negotiations and cultivate strategic relationships with foreign counterparts. He/she will manage the bilateral and multilateral engagements as follows:

• Bilateral Formulate and review country specific strategies that enhance Singapore’s space collaboration with key bilateral partners across diverse geographies. This requires sound geopolitical sensing and excellent communication skills.
• Account manage up to 15 key bilateral accounts to secure high value cooperation in areas aligned to Singapore’s strategic interests and support the negotiation and implementation of cooperation agreements.
• Multilateral Shape and advance Singapore’s positions at international fora and the development of regional and global cooperation programme to position Singapore as a regional leader in space. This requires manoeuvring in international and regional platforms and will require strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, coupled with the acumen to identify opportunities for Singapore to play a leading role in.
• Engage actively across key international and regional platforms, as well as work with IGOs/NGOs/think tanks and oversee capacity building programmes as a vehicle for influence.

What we are looking for:

• Relevant experience in international relations, international engagement, public policy, government relations, strategic partnerships, or related areas.
• Strong understanding of international and geopolitical developments, with the ability to assess their implications for organisational priorities and interests.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, including the ability to synthesise complex issues and develop clear briefs, reports, presentations and recommendations for senior management.
• Willingness and ability to travel overseas as required for official engagements, meetings and events.
